The Catoctin Orchid Society was founded in 1995 by a group of orchid enthusiasts in Frederick, Maryland.  We meet the 2nd Sunday of each month from September to May at the Thurmont Public Library at 2 pm!  Each meeting consists of a speaker on orchids and a show table of blooming orchids.  We also host a picnic at Gambrill Mountain Park in June.

We are open to the public and no membership dues or fees are required to join.  We welcome both experienced growers and those who are just starting out.  We find our club offers enjoyment to all levels of growers enjoyment and friendship.

We participate in local orchid shows, organize field trips, and offer a basic orchid culture talk to local garden clubs in addition to our monthly meetings!  Whether you are just starting your orchid journey or have been involved for years we invite you to join us.
